At Leith we got to see the boat…

Up and down the Royal Mile!

Our first full day in Edinburgh and it was going to involve a reasonable amount of walking as we decided to walk up and down the Royal Mile. We were up and out reasonably earlier so much so that we decided to miss breakfast at the hotel and get out as soon as. First day in Edinburgh

The start of our break in Edinburgh was a lovely trip up on the train.  After a change at Peterborough we picked up the Edinburgh train from London and had a lovely relaxing three and a half hour journey.  The train was very comfortable and we got breakfast, lunch and complimentary drinks.  It made a great start and certainly far more enjoyable than flying or driving!!  We arrived just before 1.30. Homeward bound

Good journey home. Left Nydie after saying goodbye to Colin at 9.30 in the morning. The journey was uneventful which was good… and after dropping the little ones off at Daddys, we were back in Norwich and very tired by 7.30 that evening. It was a lovely break and we all had lots of fun. Reenie has a ring on her finger and the children have lot of stories to tell their school chums when they start the new term!

Hello Goodbye…

Well as with all good holidays they seem to pas far too quickly…. Our past full day in Scotland. We went back to see Granny and Granddad before we headed home and had a surprise visit from Evelyn and Michael who were visiting Dundee University.
