A cheeky trip to Norwich Castle was in order today! We had a free family ticket courtesy of winning a competition last year at the Forum at the Nelson exhibition (click here for entry). Although itching to use it we wanted to wait until the weather was poor so we could justify a day indoors!
Today was that very day. We had visited the castle fairly recently (edit I checked afterwards and it was 3 years ago!!) but at that point there was some renovations going on that shut off part of the museum to us. And lets face it the littlies forget what they had for dinner a day ago so most of it was going to still feel new when we were there!!
There was a good display that housed the new Regimental Museum of the Norfolk Regiment with particular focus on the First World War as it is centenary year. And as always the stuffed animals were a particular treat along with the nature dioramas in the Bird section. We didn’t spend all day in the castle but it was a fun (and free) blast that kept us out of the weather and gave us an appetite for a Wagamamas afterwards!!
