Emilies 9th birthday weekend at Team GB head quarters was a fun filled time. Last weekend she and Kieran had a fun weekend at their Dads so now it was the party with her school friends this weekend. Her choice was to spend the afternoon enjoying Afternoon Tea at the Assembly Rooms in Norwich. A very grown up choice for our little girl! This of course meant that the boys were not allowed so we were left to amuse ourselves…

Reenie and Emilie headed into town a little early ready to meet the girls at 2.30. They enjoyed a walk round the shops before meeting everyone. Lots of laughs and chatting was done and their party was the largest one attending the Assembly Rooms. A few patrons commented on their lovely behaviour and when I briefly spoke to Reenie it sounded like they were having a lot of fun from the giggles in the background!

Kieran and I headed to Riverside to watch Lego Movie at the Odeon. In all honesty given the great weather it wasn’t the best choice to make the most of the day but it was a lot of fun and before we knew it the credits had rolled and we headed back into town for some late lunch at Wagamamas. It was at this point that our two groups sort of collided as the two men saw a group of girls outside the restaurant pulling funny faces at us. Obviously the polite behaviour could only last for so long!!!

The girls headed home to play games, listen to music and eat cake. The boys had a wander about some shops looking at Lego (surprise!) before heading home ourselves. The house was quiet when we got home as the girls had left and what remained were the members of Team GB. A rare Saturday apart but we shared our laughs and experiences of the day and it was all agreed what a fun day we had.

On Sunday we headed to Catton Rec so the littlies could use their bikes and have a run around. Emilie got to use her birthday present for the first time how grown up she looked on her new 18 speed mountain bike!!! The weather was even better and we all enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the sunshine. Shorts and t shirts for the first time this year…
